I pledge allegiance to the lies
spoken by those who lead
and swear to follow blindly
for my petty desire for greed
misrepresented prayers of truth
conforming to false realities
hollow words swallowed whole
by public insanity
I wait for someone else to stand
and fight for justice true
recalling days of precious youth
keep my allegiance to red white and blue
hold high your head and smile wide
behind the veil of lies
wave your hand side to side
and pretend that you are not despised
for we now fail to stand our ground
to do what's right and just
herded sheep that blindly follow
in counterfeit words they trust
